NRA FIRST Steps PistolFIRST stands for “Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training”, a program the NRA developed to meet the need for a firearms orientation program for new gun purchasers. This FIRST Steps program is a basic course abbreviated to the most fundamental shooting skills, and the specifics of a particular model of pistol. This course is meant for those that have purchase a handgun and would like gain an understanding storage, transportation, maintenance and safe handling skills for that particular firearm. This class DOES NOT meet the minimum firearms safety training requirement for obtaining a Massachusetts firearms license. This is a 3 hour instructor led course that covers the safe handling, operation and maintenance of your specific handgun. Students are given the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe handling, operation and storage of their firearm and the ammunition it uses. Students are also instructed in and practice stances, firing grips, sight alignment, sight picture and handgun manipulation in a live fire environment. This class does include range time. Bring your own firearm with you if you are lawfully allowed to posses and transport that firearm. All firearms should be locked in a case separate from the ammunition at all times. Firearms and ammunition are not allowed in the classroom for any reason. Course Outline:
The cost is $100.00 per person for three (3) hours. For two or more at the same location the cost is $75.00 per person. You bring your handgun and ammunition. We can supply ammunition at an additional cost. At the successful completion of the course you'll be presented with a NRA FIRST Steps Pistol completion certificate.
